Make-up Prep for Prom

1) Proper cleansing & moisturizing of the skin is necessary for a long-lasting makeup application. You should start doing this at least a month before prom.

2) Lip shades can compliment your eyes along with your eye shadows. Bright & floral-inspired lips are on trend for Spring/Summer 2013, just a "pop" of color on the lips. Be sure to reapply your lipstick throughout the evening.

3) Avoid wearing heavy foundation, wear a light-weight foundation that evens skin tone. Use a silicone based primer, it blurs imperfections & creates a soft focus finsih which will minimize the shadow that's cast on the skin by raised blemishes. If blemish is red & inflamed use a green-tinted concealer or apply a drop of Visine to blemish to minimize redness.

4) Instead of reapplying powder throughout the evening which can make the face look mask-like & cakey, blot your face with paper towels in the bathroom & prep skin with a primer that controls oil & shine/
